Avengers endgame review

Image
AVENGERS END GAME REVIEW Over the past eleven years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been weaving a narrative spread across twenty-two films. Each film telling a story and creating emotional connections with Marvel superheroes, and at the end of the credits, leading us all forward until the next piece in this massive tapestry. As the artist of these stories, Kevin Feige has been leading the charge, each movie growing this world and tying into one another on a grand scale. It all began at the end of the first Iron Man film, where a post credit scene showed Samuel Jackson playing Nick Fury, talking to Tony Stark about a new team, what would become the Avengers . Through the next series of films, it all lead to the coming together and forming the team, and at the end of the film, a purple man smiled at the screen. Anthony and Joe Russo direct the film in a strong way, pulling the best out of the actors and creating a world that lives in the wake of the Thanos “snap.” They deal...

Knock The Vote 2018

Image
Knock the vote 2018  “Knock the vote 2018” displayed different older men and women, challenging the youth to action and vote. It begins with a group of actors playing elderly Trump supporters and talking about why they voted and will continue to do so. They then proceed to tease young people for acting on their frustrations by liking Instagram memes, going to “one of those little marches” and sharing videos like this one on Facebook — but not actually voting. They are trying to get the point across that voting is actual really important. By not voting you give up on a chance to choose leaders and representatives who will do things that are important to them. Nobody can force a citizen to vote. But many citizens do vote, because voting lets them tell the government what they want it to do. The purpose of every government is to develop and implement various policies for the benefit of its citizens. It also enables the person with the right to question the government abo...

My Culture is not a costume

Image
MY CULTURE IS NOT A COSTUME Most of the people in the video “My culture is not a costume” are upset, and rightfully so, on how there cultures are being portrayed. One person in particular stated how they hated the fact that people wore clothes a certain culture wears on halloween because they were basically expressing disrespect towards the other culture. The discussion of costumes versus culture leads us to the complex concept of cultural appropriation. Simply put, cultural appropriation is the adoption of traits from one culture to another. Despite the inevitability of this occurring in our rapidly globalizing world and the current discourse on racial appropriation in the USA, we would be shortsighted to only see this as a negative phenomenon. It's time to change the conversation around cultural appropriation. The term has been reduced to mere internet outrage, and dismissed as a tool to keep people from enjoying Halloween. But the reality is cultural appropri...

Fake News is no news

Image
FAKE NEWS I definitely agree, because of the media. news spreads unbelievably quickly. Nowadays, anybody with presentable platform can say any thing and try to make everyone think it is the truth, and that what there saying is pure facts. I am fond by the tips and guidance you gave on how to identify fake news, and I believe it will assist me in the future on when I personally am trying to determine the difference between real, and fake news. Fake news can destroy trust, damage learning culture, and sap curiosity. Make sure you know how to spot fact from fiction by making sure the source is reliable. Fake news is nothing new. But, what is new is how easy it's become to share information – both true and false – on a massive scale.Social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn allow almost anyone to publish their thoughts or share stories to the world. The trouble is, most people don't check the source of the material that they view online before they sha...

Nike takes a knee with kaeprnick

Image
Nike Takes a Knee with Kaepernick Colin Kaepernick has faced a lot of controversy due to him kneeling during the anthem to make notice of racism in america. Many love the acts of Colin, yet a lot of fans turned on him. Kaepernick made his choice. He determined that being on the right side of history and using his platform to try to effect social change was more important to him than simply toeing the line to keep his job. Whether you love the ad (as do many of Kaepernick’s peers and supporters, who shared the image across their social media platforms) or hate it (as do the same pre-existing outraged Kaepernick critics, many of whom now say they’re burning their Nike gear), the apparel company and former San Francisco 49ers quarterback both win. Ideally, the ad would further fuel the conversation about the need to fix our country’s wretched problem of racial and social injustice. Ideally, people will have seen the image and recall why Kaepernick first took a knee during the...
